March 2024 Wellness Newsletter

Dear Friend of Adhara Alchemy,

What a strange February it's been! Days in the 70s, a snowstorm, tornados, thunderstorms - quite the weather roller coaster ride! I've heard from many of you that your lives have been a mirror of the weather, and I'll agree - it's been similar for me, too. As we begin March, its a good time to consider what we might want to bring into the start of the spring season and what we might want to leave behind.

Maybe you are interested in learning more about our plant allies. This month I'll be teaching a class in the Herbal Wellness series about herbs to support minor wounds. I'm also offering a one-day intensive course on incense making - I'm really looking forward to it. We don't always consider the ways that smoke can bring wellness, cleansing, and reflection into our lives, but this class will give you hands-on experience in just that. March also brings the return of a broom-making class, this time with a hawk's tail broom, just in time for spring cleaning.

As of today, I'm offering some really special ceremonial cacao for sale on the Adhara Alchemy website - this is the same that I use for our New Moon ceremonies. It's been available for purchase at Zen Loft Wellness Center, but I wanted to offer it for sale for those who aren't local. You can read more about it below. And of course, the next ceremony is Sunday, March 10th! I hope to see you there to celebrate the Pisces new moon.

Wishing you a healthy and balanced winter-to-spring transition,

Andrea

We will learn how to craft a 16-18” hawk tail whisk-style broom, or besom, in this 2.5-hour class.  Participants will explore the symbolism and significance of the broom as a spiritual tool while learning the hands-on craft.  Includes all materials.

Ceremonial Cacao

I'm thrilled to offer the same beautiful cacao I use in ceremony for your use at home and to share with your family and community. This cacao is made by an indigenous-owned collective called Chinimital del Ka'kaw. The cacao is farmed in Guatemala in the traditional Mayan way. Three traditional Kotzij’ (ceremonies) are held at the farm to show respect to the cacao trees: when it is planted, when it flowers, when it is harvested. The cacao is never touched by metal or machines and is completely processed by hand with deep respect for Mamasita Cacao. You can read more about it by clicking on the link below. You can purchase it directly from that link, or in person at Zen Loft Wellness Center in Aurora, IL.

New moons are perfect times for the heart-opening effects of cacao. Gathering together to drink cacao can create healing, connection, and inspiration. This ceremony celebrates the Pisces New Moon - the perfect time to focus on intentions connected to creativity, healing, and working with grief.

I hope to see you Sunday, March 10th from 4:30 to 6:30!
